Elective Home Education AUTUMN TERM 2017 19 new referrals have been received during the autumn term. Reasons for EHE during Autumn Term 2017 Dissatisfaction with school SEND Dissatisfaction with school bullying General dissatisfaction with school 4 Parents did not provide reason 0 Health/Emotional Health 6 Difficulty in accessing a school place Did not get school preference 1 To avoid attendance fines/prosecution Philosophical/religious reasons 0 Other Categories taken from adcs survey (Sept 17) 5 0 0 1 2 Elective Home Education 8 pupils who were previously EHE have enrolled with local schools within the Autumn Term. 7 EHE cases have been prevented this term by working with parents and schools to resolve issues that have led to parents wishing to withdraw children from school. 9 (19 pupils) families have refused monitoring visits from the EHE worker. Letters have been sent to parents introducing the EHE Officer and requesting contact. Evidence of work completed requested from families who continue to decline visits from LA. Where evidence has not been provided School Attendance Orders will be sought (2 warning letters have been issued Autumn Term). The team continue to work with 98 pupils who are electively home educated, completing home visits, initial plans, monitoring reports as well as providing advice and signposting to other services/education providers.
